02What we sell
SMSBite provides B2B cloud communications infrastructure. Customers purchase SMS messaging services through an API for transactional notifications, authentication, verification and other legitimate business communications.
In practical terms, a customer integrates our HTTP API into its own application and submits messages programmatically. We route each message to the destination mobile network operator through aggregator partners and, where established, direct operator connections, and return delivery telemetry to the customer. The unit of sale is messaging capacity — metered per message submitted — not software licences, hardware or handsets.
The traffic types customers buy capacity for are:
- Transactional notifications — order, delivery, appointment, booking and account-status messages.
- Authentication and one-time passwords — login codes, step-up authentication and transaction confirmation codes.
- Verification — confirming that a phone number is reachable and controlled by the person registering it.
- Service alerts — outage, security, fraud-warning and operational notices.
- Two-way messaging — inbound replies, keyword handling and opt-out processing.
- Marketing messaging, subject to the consent rules in our Anti-Spam Policy and the law of the destination country.
Message delivery itself is best-effort. It depends on mobile network operators, aggregators, regulators and handset conditions, and no delivery outcome for any individual message is guaranteed.
03Who our customers are
SMSBite serves verified business customers. Customers may be required to complete KYB/KYC and provide information about their business, traffic use case, sender identity and expected messaging volumes.
There are no consumer accounts and no self-service consumer sign-up. The service is not offered to natural persons acting outside a trade, business or profession, and it is not intended for personal, family or household use. Accounts are opened only after an enquiry and a commercial conversation, and only in the name of an incorporated or otherwise duly constituted business entity.
Described as categories rather than named references, the typical customer profile is:
- Software platforms — SaaS and application vendors that send their own users transactional and account messages.
- Identity-verification providers — businesses that need one-time passwords and phone-number verification as part of their own product.
- Logistics and e-commerce platforms — businesses sending order confirmations, dispatch and delivery notifications.
- Enterprise IT teams — internal teams that need programmatic notifications, alerting and workforce messaging.
Customer identities are treated as confidential by default, and our standard contract commits us to that. Where a customer has consented, reference information is shared with a prospective customer under a confidentiality agreement during procurement.
04What we are not
SMSBite is a technical communications infrastructure provider. It does not provide financial services, money transmission, payment processing or cryptocurrency services.
Specifically, SMS Bite Limited:
- does not hold, transmit, convert or otherwise handle customer funds, and holds no client, escrow or segregated customer-money accounts;
- does not act as a payment facilitator, payment service provider, e-money institution, money services business or money transmitter, and does not process card transactions on behalf of any third party;
- does not offer custody, exchange, brokerage, dealing, lending or investment services of any kind, in fiat or in crypto-assets;
- does not resell or sub-licence access to the platform to third parties in the absence of a written reseller agreement executed with SMS Bite Limited.
Some customers operate in regulated sectors — financial services and identity verification among them. Where they do, SMSBite’s role toward them is limited to delivering their messages. We are the communications channel; we are not a party to their underlying transactions, we do not touch their end-users’ money, and we hold no regulatory permission on their behalf. The regulated activity, and any authorisation required for it, remain entirely theirs.
05How we charge and how funds flow
The commercial relationship is a single, linear one between two businesses. A business customer signs an Order Form with SMS Bite Limited setting out the contracted rates, the billing currency and the payment terms. Usage is then metered per message submitted, priced by destination country and volume tier at the rates fixed in that contract; rates are quoted before signature and do not change during the contracted period other than as the Order Form provides.
SMSBite invoices the customer for metered usage plus any agreed platform or sender-ID fees. Unless the Order Form specifies a pre-paid balance, invoices are issued monthly in arrears and are payable within thirty (30) days of the invoice date (net 30). The customer pays SMS Bite Limited directly, by bank transfer or card, into the SMS Bite Limited account of record. SMSBite in turn pays its aggregator and mobile network operator suppliers for termination of that traffic, out of its own funds and under its own supplier contracts.
Money therefore moves in one direction only: from the business customer to SMS Bite Limited, and from SMS Bite Limited to its suppliers. Incoming funds are payment for communications services rendered by SMS Bite Limited to the payer. They are not third-party funds, not settlement, not collections on behalf of anyone, and not held for onward transmission to any party other than our own suppliers as trade payables. No customer of a customer ever pays SMSBite, and SMSBite never disburses funds to a customer’s end-users.
Refunds, credits and the treatment of unused pre-paid balances are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Where a refund is due it is returned to the same customer and, where practicable, to the same payment instrument used for the original payment. Billing questions go to billing@smsbite.com.
06Onboarding and verification
Onboarding is by enquiry and runs in a fixed sequence. There is no route to production traffic that bypasses it.
- Enquiry— the prospective customer contacts us and describes the business, the intended traffic and the destinations.
- Commercial conversation — requirements, destinations, expected volumes and indicative per-destination rates are discussed.
- KYB/KYC— verification of corporate registration, beneficial ownership and the identity of signatories, together with sanctions screening.
- Use-case and sender-identity review — the message categories, sample content, consent and opt-in basis, and the sender IDs to be registered for each destination.
- Sandbox credentials — test API keys issued for integration against a non-production environment.
- Production— an Order Form is signed, live credentials are issued and traffic is enabled, initially within agreed volume limits.
SMSBite may decline a prospect, or offboard an existing customer, whose use case does not pass review — including where KYB/KYC information is incomplete or materially inaccurate, where the intended traffic conflicts with our Acceptable Use Policy or Anti-Spam Policy, or where the sender identity cannot be substantiated. We are not obliged to give reasons for declining.
